Christine studied English and History at Swansea University and did her teacher training at Sheffield College of Education. She started her career as a Liberal Studies lecturer in the UK. After moving to Denmark, she taught English, both language and literature, and worked as an Information Assistant at the British Council Library. Until recently she was Assistant Editor of APMIS (Journal of Pathology, Microbiology and Immunology). She ran the editorial office, progressed manuscripts from submission to publication, dealt with authors, editors and reviewers, and had considerable experience revising, copyediting and proofreading manuscripts. Currently she teaches courses in medical writing for PhD students and others interested in improving their language and communication skills. She is a member of the European Medical Writers Association, the American Medical Writers Association and the European Association of Science Editors.

Christine Hebert BA, MSc
Christine studied Environmental and Natural Resource Economics at the University of Copenhagen and Environmental studies and Economics at Colgate University. She worked in tobacco cessation and cancer prevention research at RTI International in North Carolina and the University of South Carolina, where she focused on data management, collection, and analysis, as well as contributed to several peer-reviewed articles. Since coming to Denmark, she has founded two fish-tech companies, worked as a reporter and editorial assistant at the University Post, and provided freelance academic copyediting services to non-native English speakers through Mike Young Academy

Holly McWhorter BA, MA
Holly has over 20 years of experience as a freelance copy editor and writer, having edited and written for a wide range of consumer and industry publications in the US. Her additional professional background includes natural health research, fine art, graphic design, interior architecture, and entrepreneurship. A native of Philadelphia and longtime New Yorker, she currently lives and works between Copenhagen and New York City, frequently providing English editing services to Danish business and private clients.

Mike Young is the former editor of the University Post media at the University of Copenhagen. Since 2016, he has helped scientists, university staff and communications professionals with the effective use of digital short form writing and social media. He has held practical workshops—in-person and online via webinar—throughout Europe, Asia, the US and Australia.

Bobby Brown BSc, PhD
Bobby studied biochemistry at the University of Glasgow where he worked for over 20 years as a technician, PhD student, and postdoctoral research scientist. He has a PhD in plant molecular genetics and has co-authored manuscripts, peer-reviewed articles for publication in scientific journals, and presented his research as a speaker at conferences in the UK and USA. He has also written conference abstracts and designed slide kits and poster presentations for the medical/healthcare industry. He is now a freelance medical writer and regularly edits manuscripts written by non-native English speakers.

Marcus Corander BSc, PhD
Marcus studied Biomedical Science at the University of Leeds and subsequently completed a PhD in Clinical Biochemistry at the University of Cambridge, where he published manuscripts and presented research at international congresses. He is now based in Dubai and leads a medical communications agency, where he supports clinical publications planning and execution for international pharmaceutical companies in collaboration with leading physicians from the Middle East and North Africa region across a broad range of therapy areas.

Stephen was formerly a researcher at the University of Manchester and an associate lecturer at Manchester Metropolitan University. He is now based in Sweden, where he previously worked as science editor at a research institute in Malmö; as a regulatory/publications writer at a contract research organization in Lund; and as a freelance copy editor. Stephen is now a home-based medical writing manager at Thermo Fisher Scientific, where he specialises in developing manuscripts on patient-centred research. He has been a member of the European Medical Writers Association (EMWA) since 2010 and is a former Co-Editor of their journal, Medical Writing. Stephen is a current EMWA workshop leader. He has over 15 years of professional experience writing and editing manuscripts.
