BERGEN, NORWAY

 

PhD students, Post Docs and Senior Researchers attended a 2-day seminar entitled 'The art of writing a scientific paper'. This was a collaboration between the Centre for Cancer Biomarkers, Bergen, Norway, and the Boston-based Harvard Medical School and Harvard Kennedy School, USA. Topics included were how to write clearly and convincingly, punctuation, the abstract, the cover letter, and scientific storytelling.

 

The seminar was enthusiastically received and another seminar is planned for 2019. Christine Møller BA, Dip Ed, Assistant Editor of APMIS Randy Watnick PhD, Dept. of Surgery, Harvard Medical School & the Vascular Biology Program, Boston Children's Hospital.

REGENSBURG, GERMANY

 

Physicians, academic staff, PhD students, Post Docs, and other authors of articles intended for publication in international journals attended a seminar entitled ‘Good Medical Writing’ at the Institute for Medical Microbiology and Hygiene, the University of Regensburg. The theoretical part of this seminar focused on the structure of research articles, writing in a clear and concise manner as well as common errors in grammar, style and usage.
