PhD students, Post Docs and Senior Researchers attended a 2-day seminar entitled 'The art of writing a scientific paper'. This was a collaboration between the Centre for Cancer Biomarkers, Bergen, Norway, and the Boston-based Harvard Medical School and Harvard Kennedy School, USA. Topics included were how to write clearly and convincingly, punctuation, the abstract, the cover letter, and scientific storytelling.

Physicians, academic staff, PhD students, Post Docs, and other authors of articles intended for publication in international journals attended a seminar entitled ‘Good Medical Writing’ at the Institute for Medical Microbiology and Hygiene, the University of Regensburg. The theoretical part of this seminar focused on the structure of research articles, writing in a clear and concise manner as well as common errors in grammar, style and usage. In the interactive part, the participants' own work was evaluated in small groups. Presentations, workshops & seminars, as well as courses, are held at hospitals and research centres. There are various formats with a mixture of talks, exercises, and small-group discussions.


Participants learn interactively how to improve their writing and maximize the impact of their published research.
